| DEC 27th | FROSTBITE ANIMAL ROUND (H) 14 TARGETS | LET'S GET OUT AND WORK OFF THAT TURKEY !!!!!! |
There will be some guess work in the initial stages until everyone has at least two scores in, but the more scores the better it works. This will allow all styles to shoot against each other, therefore creating more competition and It will become accurate as more scores are shot.
HOW IT WORKS
It is based on averages against perfect scores. Once in full swing, we take the best three scores out of five, then the best five out of seven and so forth, as more scores come in, averages will always prevail. Initially we will work it on two scores to get started, which is why I say it won't be too accurate to start with. Established archers are no problem as it will be worked out from previous competition scores.
The calculation is, we take the best three scores, say, 460, 450 & 470, add them together and divide by three to get the average, which is 460. We then take that away from the maximum score of 560 which equals 100. The handicapp is 80% of the difference, which is 80.
560 - (460 + 450 + 470 = 1380 divide by 3) 460 = 100 x 80% = 80 handicapp, this means that if you shoot your average score of 460+80=540.
TIE BREAKS
In the event of a tie during a competition, the following rule will apply: The archers tied on scores will shoot three extra targets, their scores for the three targets will be combined the added to their handicapp per target, the highest score will win.
EXAMPLE
Handicapps are based on 28 targets, therefore in the event of an archer with a handicapp of 30 shooting against an archer with a handicapp of 60.
We take 30 and divide it by 28 = 1.07pts per target, archer is allowed
We take 60 and divide it by 28 = 2.14pts per target, archer is allowed
They shoot three targets in tie break.
The archer with the 60 handicapp scores 17,16,17 = 50 +(3 x 2.14)6.42 = total of 56.42
The archer with the 30 handicapp scores 17,18,18 = 53 +(3 x 1.07)3.21 = total of 56.21
The archer with the higher handicapp wins!
